Over time, iron deficiency can lead to the formation of thin, web-like membranes to form in the throat, known as oesophageal webs. These webs narrow the passage for food and make swallowing difficult. Besides affecting the swallowing process, the condition can also increase the risk of certain types of cancer if not treated in time. In this blog, we will look at what causes Plummer-Vinson Syndrome, the symptoms that may appear, and the treatment options available. Let us begin with understanding the condition.
