Ovarian Cancer Treatment with Robotic Surgery

Feb 21, 2026

Robotic surgery is an advanced technique used in the treatment of ovarian cancer, offering enhanced precision through high-definition 3D vision and specialised instruments controlled by the surgeon. In this video, Dr Kanika Gupta from Max Hospital, Patparganj, explains that robotic surgery is most suitable for early-stage ovarian cancer. In selected advanced cases, interval debulking surgery after chemotherapy may also be performed robotically.

However, it is not appropriate for every patient, especially in advanced disease or when overall health conditions preclude it. The benefits include smaller incisions, minimal pain, reduced blood loss, and faster recovery. Many patients can walk and begin oral intake on the same day, with discharge often possible the next day. Watch to understand whether robotic surgery could be the right option in ovarian cancer treatment.
