Bijendra Singh, a resident of Saraswati Vihar, experienced a sudden fall at home. Following the fall, he felt severe pain in his left leg and suspected a fracture. Doctors observed that the patient’s limb was externally rotated, which indicated a possible fracture. An X-ray confirmed a fracture of the neck of the femur, a condition commonly seen in older individuals due to osteoporotic bones. Under the care of Dr Kuldeep Malik, Director – Orthopaedics & Joint Replacement, a minimally invasive uncemented hemiarthroplasty was performed to treat the fracture. One of the key goals in such cases is to help the patient regain mobility as quickly as possible. The surgery was successful, and remarkably, the patient was able to begin walking the very next day with assistance.
