Given her obesity and complex anatomy, Dr Anant performed a robotic splenorenal bypass, using the proximal splenic artery to restore kidney blood flow. She recovered quickly, was discharged within days, and her BP and sugar levels steadily improved. Remarkably, this was the first such bypass ever performed robotically worldwide, marking a milestone in advanced urological surgery.
