Dr Samir R. Shah

Dr Samir R. Shah is one of India's most respected hepatologists, with over 40 years of experience in the diagnosis and management of complex liver diseases, liver transplantation, and advanced hepatology. As Chairman - Hepatology at Max Healthcare, he is recognised for his expertise in managing acute and chronic liver disorders, liver failure, viral hepatitis, cirrhosis, and transplant hepatology.

Over the course of his distinguished career, Dr Shah has played a pivotal role in establishing and strengthening liver transplant and intensive liver care programmes at leading healthcare institutions. Prior to joining Max Healthcare, he served as Director of the Department of Hepatology and Intensive Liver Care Unit at Gleneagles Hospitals, Mumbai. He has also been associated as an Honorary Consultant in Gastroenterology at Breach Candy Hospital and as a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre, as well as Sir H. N. Hospital.
